Memoriam's story is about tradition, innovation, and teamwork. Founded by Kyle Fricke after graduating from college in 2010, the company builds on Kyle's family business, Fricke Memorials. Kyle's grandfather, Alan E. Fricke, started the original business in 1946, and his father, Tom Fricke, made it a leader in Long Island's monument industry. For ten years, Kyle learned the craft, embracing his family's hard work and passion.

When COVID-19 began in 2020, the industry faced significant challenges. Kyle took on more responsibility in the business, which led him to new opportunities. In 2021, amid supply shortages, Kyle began sourcing stones internationally rather than solely from the U.S. His first successful order from China brought new colors and higher-quality materials to Fricke Memorials.

In 2023, Kyle, his father, and his sister launched Long Island Stone Imports, Inc. They formed partnerships worldwide, including a new relationship with a mosaic company after attending a stone convention in Orlando. Working with a manufacturer in Pakistan sparked new ideas and led to the founding of Memoriam. The new venture is about more than sales; it aims to make a positive impact through collaboration.
